Every concert series over these many years has had some remarkable and
unique ingredients in it. Of them all however, the single most important one
is YOU. Thank you for celebrating these joyous occasions with us and making
CMI a part of your holiday tradition! You have come, supported, encouraged
and inspired us. You have listened, applauded, and rewarded us with your time,
your praise and your presence.
Every song and performance that touched you and members of your family
connect us forever. This has been an awesome exchange and we hope you
received as much from it as we have.
Kathey, my wife joins me in saying "From our family to yours.... Merry Christmas."
Warmly,
For the 37th consecutive year, the popular 250-voice CMI CONCERT CHOIR
will present their annual concert series in Michigan and Ohio. This year's
series will feature 10 concerts, including 6 special afternoon matinee
performances.
It's called "Just Say Merry Christmas", featuring favorite selections to launch
the holiday season. For over three decades, this event has become a tradition
for area concertgoers, with sold-out performances in each venue.
"Just Say Merry Christmas" mixes the most requested music of the holidays with
production, pageantry, visuals, costuming, special effects, sound, creative
lighting, and above all, excellent musical talent. One favorite ingredient
is audience participation and surprise gifts!
Produced and directed by internationally recognized musical creator, Thurlow
Spurr, the concert includes the artistic musical talents of Rick Everitt, The Four Divas,
The CMI Orchestra, The Brotherhood, The Spirit Wind Dance Company, The
Thurlow Spurr Singers, The CMI GIRLZ, Brian Brown, Laura Petrak, The CMI Spurrlows, and Karen
Jenkins, the 2007 winner of the "I Want To Be A Star Search" contest as well
as other soloists and musicians from the area.
Asked to describe this year's presentation, Mr. Spurr said, "It's a musical
explosion of sight and sound. Each year some surprises are added that will
thrill the audience. We chose "Just Say Merry Christmas" to celebrate the Christ
of Christmas at a time when it is becoming "politically correct" to leave
Him out. We invite our faithful concert patrons to come back and bring their
friends. It's a 'must' for those who love the Christmas season! Many areas
sold out early last year, so get your tickets now."
